Alex Harron is a documentary Producer/Director  based in Scotland. He has a passion for documentaries focusing on striking personal stories in the world of sporting achievement. He completed his first feature documentary ‘Bend Don’t Break’ in 2018 (available to watch on Amazon Prime). He received funding through the Scottish Documentary Institute’s Bridging the Gap programme to produce the short film 'The Racer', which was screened at film festivals including Vancouver International Film Festival and Edinburgh International Film Festival. 'The Racer' was then developed into a 30 min TV documentary for BBC Scotland in 2019 with the help of Ross Wilson as Executive Producer. Alex received a nomination at Edinburgh TV Festival New Voice Awards for Debut Director.  His next film was a 1-hour documentary for BBC Scotland called ‘The Boxer’ again with Ross Wilson as Executive Producer. It went out in July 2020 and was nominated at the Celtic Media Festival for Best Sports Documentary and by Royal Television Society for Best Sports Programme. In 2023 Alex completed his third documentary for the BBC Eilish McColgan: Running In The Family about the mother, daughter relationship between Liz and Eilish McColgan which was shown on BBC One.  He is currently developing numerous projects for TV and cinema.
